Woohoo...It's Fall Break.

I can't believe that we finished up with the first quarter this past Friday.  We are officially 1/4 done with our school year.  I am pleased with the progress my little kinder kiddos have been making, but there's still a lot to learn and do.

It's time for Faley's October Currently...I love seeing what other fellow educators are up to.  Here's what I am up to this October..

Fall Break had officially started this past Friday at 2:05 p.m.  I am looking forward to sleeping in a little longer, but it won't be too long since I will be dropping off my hubby at work this week...we only have 1 car.

I have to begin report cards and get ready for Parent Teacher Conferences since those will be starting soon after we return from Fall Break.  I also need to get moving on my Wonders PD portfolio...it's due sometime in November.  So maybe, I won't have too much time to relax this Fall Break.

I love living in Hawaii, but the heat and humidity is ridiculous.  Temperatures are reaching 90's and my portable only has oscillating fans.  We are roasting in there...not fun to be all sticky by 9:00 a.m.  Hoping that the trade winds will return soon and make it somewhat bearable to work and learn in our classroom.

Since we will be beginning our Go Math chapter about teen numbers...I will be posting I can compose teen numbers  for free for the whole month of October.

 I can compose teen numbers

Happy Fall...xoxo,
Julie

  1. Hi Julie,
I just finished conferences but am only 5 weeks into the school year. I think the weather this year has been crazy in Southern California too and my allergies are starting up. I thought it was suppose to be worse in the spring. I always end up with laryngitis in October because of sinus issues. Ugh! Thanks the for the freebie. It'll be perfect for my class next week.

  2. Hi there!! I found your blog on the Currently linky and I am so jealous of you right now. Fall Break AND you live in Hawaii?! :) I can't imagine not having AC though...that would be miserable! Hope it gets cooler soon!

    1. I love The Currently linky...it's fun to read about what other educators are up to. I am excited for fall break...need some down time. I go to my parents' house to cool off in their AC since we don't have one at our apartment ;). I hope you have a great week.

  3. I, too, found you via Farley's Currently linky! Your comment about no AC grabbed my attention because I live in the deep south and I know I speak for so many others when I say we couldn't survive without the AC! :)
I'm enjoying fall break next week, too. My district dropped it from our calendar several years ago but thankfully, brought it back THIS year. I, for one, needed it so badly! :) Enjoy your week!

    1. Our school and many others here in Hawaii do not have AC in the classrooms. It's crazy and frustrating at times that we (teachers and students) have to work in the hot classrooms. Crossing fingers that the weather will get cooler soon or by some miracle that the schools will slowly get AC put in. Enjoy your fall break...it's a much needed one for me too.

  5. And here I am in WA freezing with boots and scarves! :) I think I would die in no air conditioning. Up here we have a low tolerance for heat sometimes! I think because we don't know what the sun is so when it is out we don't know what to do with ourselves hehe. My aunt just moved here from Hawaii - that took some adjusting!
Glad to find more kinder blogs on the link ups - I love connecting! Enjoy your fall break and feel better!
